The two physiotherapists Magdalena Rechberger and Judith Sacher specialize in pelvic floor therapy. Their vision is to create an opportunity for women to talk about their pelvic floor issues without feeling ashamed or afraid. With their online courses, this is possible individually and flexibly.
Magdalena & Judith, where are you with PelviQueens right now?
People are showing great interest in our project and we are getting great inquiries. Of course, that makes the work all the more fun. But it also puts a bit of pressure on the system, we've now had to postpone our product completion a bit. That means we're both working at full speed now, but it's definitely fun.
What have been the biggest stumbling blocks in your startup life so far?
Even though we have familiarized ourselves with technical topics, this field was still new territory for us and definitely not easy. We have developed extremely well in this area. We have familiarized ourselves with it, read up on it and achieved a lot, but we would say it was still a stumbling block. Generally speaking, we both come from a practical background and, as I said, we are both physiotherapists, so we had no previous experience. The "financial planning" was also new to us. In addition, the distance between Vienna and Upper Austria was also challenging for us.
What is your biggest learning from this time so far?
One of the biggest things I learned was how much fun it actually is to set up your own project. It's a great feeling to create something for the future that you might be able to make a living from. Implementing the project with his girlfriend and now business partner also connects you on a completely different level.
How has tech2b been able to support you?
tech2b has been able to support us in many areas. They offer this expertise that we as physiotherapists didn't quite have. In various areas, be it finance or legal and technical issues. The network they offer us is an absolute added value. Being able to exchange ideas with other start-ups is really great and we also have such a cool mentor at our side. A big thank you to our mentor Johannes Sailer.
A message to the community:
Don't underestimate how much time it takes to found a company or get a start-up off the ground. We are lucky enough to work independently as physiotherapists. However, over time, it might not be quite so easy to juggle everything when you are employed. The second message from us: don't lose the joy of it, celebrate successes, always have the "WHY" in the back of your mind and never lose sight of the vision.
