Abstract
runtastic GmbH offers products and services related to the collection and management of sports data as well as to the networking of athletes in order to convey fun in sports and to encourage people to practice sports.
Founder's Profile
runtastic GmbH was founded by four academics (Rene Giretzlehner; Florian Gschwandtner; Christian Kaar; Mag. Alfred Luger), who already have several years of project experience, were founded at the beginning of October 2009.
Each of the four founders holds a 25% stake in runtastic GmbH.
Products
It is now possible for millions of athletes to manage their own sports data on the sports portal www.runtastic.at, view statistics and evaluations and share them with friends and like-minded people. The factors of fun in sports and entertainment are at the forefront of the company's concept.
The sport-related data is obtained from permanently installed, self-developed timing stations (based on RFID technology), as well as from our own mobile applications (iPhone, Android, heart rate monitors,...) and transferred (wirelessly) to the sports portal without any effort on the part of the athlete, where it is prepared in a visually appealing way for the athlete.
