MITI Biosystems

Lifescience 2011

Abstract
MITI Biosystems provides peptide compound libraries consisting of a large number of different cyclic (ring-shaped) peptides (short
amino acid chains). The compound library contains more than 50 million different peptides, with each individual peptide having its own distinguishing feature. The identifier allows for the unique identification of each peptide in the compound library.
The large number of different peptides and their unique identifiers allow the substance library to be screened for peptides that have specific physico-chemical properties. Such screening procedures, in which many different substances are tested in parallel, are, among other things, the starting point for the isolation of lead substances for drug development.

MITI Biosystems is located in Mondsee, Upper Austria and has been part of tech2b's founding program since the beginning of 2011.

Founder's Profile
Guntram Christiansen is the founder and CEO of MITI Biosystems. He has been working on the secondary metabolism of cyanobacteria for 15 years and has published several papers in this field. He has carried out his work on this topic in Germany, the USA and Austria.

Products
MITI Biosystems produces compound libraries consisting of a large number of different peptides, which are used, among other things, for ultra high throughput screenings (uHTS).
