PIER4 pitching session at MKW

June 13 was the day. The most innovative minds in Upper Austrian industry met exciting start-ups. At the PIER4 pitching session, 7 start-ups from Austria and Germany pitched their ideas and solutions in front of 70 participants.

The session was kicked off by host Karl Niederndorfer, who presented the impressive MKW family business from Weibern. The company specializes in metal, powder coating, plastics technology and plumbing. The PIER4 network represents a particular added value for MKW: the exchange of experience within the network enables the company to react quickly to trends and create space for innovation.

This time, the start-ups were also there:

- smapO: At SmapONe, we empower people and organizations with an easy-to-use tool and professional services to shape digitalization playfully and under their own steam. With the SmpaOne no-code platform with predefined modules, we also enable non-IT people to digitize their processes themselves. www.smapOne.com

- Plasmics: Plasmics was founded in 2018 and has been active in the development of additive manufacturing solutions ever since. We are a startup in the high-tech and deep-tech sector and are developing a multi-material 3D printer and an associated machine learning concept to simplify and democratize the decentralized manufacturing of products and spare parts in the future. www.plasmics.com

- Aisem: AISEMO offers an AI-based complete solution for the plastics injection molding industry that reduces operatingcosts and increases productivity through efficient digitalization and real-time access to production data. The flexible plug-and-play integration supports companies and employees in achieving their goals and promotes optimization through predictive maintenance and quality management. It contributes to achieving sustainability goals by optimizing energy consumption, reducing waste and improving resource utilization. www.aisemo.com

- Wastics: Wastics is a SaaS solution that helps companies to find optimal disposal solutions for their waste, compare offers, record internal waste management and handle all operational waste management activities in a completely digital and legally compliant manner. This enables companies to improve their environmental performance, reduce the administrative workload for employees and save on disposal costs. www.wastics.eu

- Fox & Eagle: Fox&Eagle is a platform that helps companies find new employees faster. This is done via a cross-company and cross-industry Talent Scout network. Companies publish their vacancies in the Fox&Eagle web application and all registered Talent Scouts can view them and recommend them to potential applicants in their field. For a successful job recommendation, the Talent Scout receives at least € 300 and the company receives a new employee:in: www.foxandealge.com

- Partium: Partium is an AI search technology that provides (even inexperienced) machine technicians with an efficient method for identifying products and spare parts in complex industrial environments. The software enables technicians to combine and process all the information available on the material as well as their own knowledge within the search in order to identify the right material more quickly. Customers are companies that maintain large infrastructures, as well as machine operators, machine manufacturers and spare parts distributors. www.partium.io

- Vuframe: We offer our customers modern tools for sales, marketing and service. With the Vuframe® platform, any company can create intelligent and secure 3D demos of products, machines and complex systems with just a few clicks from existing CAD/3D files quickly and easily and without programming knowledge. Simply present your products on the web or your complex systems virtually on a tablet, smartphone or VR glasses. www.vuframe.com

On the evening before the PIER4 pitching session, there was an exciting pre-event program for the startups, with a tour of the Tabakfabrik and then dinner together.

An absolute highlight was, of course, the exclusive tour of the MKW halls - a look behind the scenes that we won't soon forget! While networking together during the breaks and after the event, we discussed initial opportunities for cooperation with the start-ups and brainstormed innovative ideas with other companies from the PIER 4 network.

Thanks also to Wolfgang Auer from AISEMO, who spoke about innovation in traditional companies.

Don't forget, the next pitching session will take place on October 03, 2023.
