Innovation has a long tradition in Upper Austria: 30 years of the State Prize for Innovation
Staying fit for the future and competitive: This is only possible with courage and openness to new ideas. Especially in difficult times, research, development and innovation strengthen the local economy. Upper Austria has always had the right answer to crises: innovation. It drives the economic engine. But we also need role models - courageous people who motivate others to follow their example. They should be brought to the fore and made visible.
In this anniversary year, the Upper Austrian Provincial Award for Innovation is thus demonstrating for the 30th time how Upper Austria's innovative strength is fueling progress in our province. From all submissions that qualify for the Upper Austrian State Prize for Innovation, up to three companies will also be selected to take part in the State Prize for Innovation and one company each for the Austria-wide special prizes VERENA and ECONOVIUS.
The innovation prize is awarded in three categories:
- Small and medium-sized enterprises
- Large companies
- Research facilities
The winners of each category will receive a cash prize (EUR 4,000 per category) donated by the Upper Austrian Department of Economics and Research. There are also two recognition prizes in each category.
In addition, two Upper Austrian jury prizes (for radical innovations and/or business model innovations) can be awarded.
