From September 13 to 15, 2023, we attended the strategy meeting of the #AplusB centers in Velden. Managing directors and communication managers from all nine AplusB centers had joined forces to pursue a common goal: the promotion of Austria's largest startup network, ApluB. But without a doubt, the highlight of these days was the awarding of the Business Angel of the Year 2023 at the enchanting Schlosshotel Velden GmbH.
Business Angel of the Year 2023: Christiane Holzinger
We are proud to announce that the "FEMALE Business Angel of the Year 2023" award went to Christiane Holzinger. This prestigious award recognizes her exceptional contributions and commitment to supporting startups. Congratulations, Christiane! This is a well-deserved recognition for your work and commitment to the startup world.
It is remarkable that out of a total of six nominations, only two female business angels accepted. We are firmly convinced that we need more visibility and support for female business angels.
Further deserved awards
In addition to the award for Christiane Holzinger, other outstanding personalities in the startup community were also honored. Berthold Baurek-Karlic received the well-deserved award as "Business Angel of the Year 2023", and Johann 'Hansi' Hansmann was celebrated for his great life's work .
Networking and exchange of ideas
The event not only provided an excellent opportunity to recognize achievements, but also to network and exchange ideas. National and international business angels came together to shape the future of the start-up scene and explore new opportunities.
