tech2b: Where startups become changemakers.

Moldsonics and Diamens are two of numerous start-ups that have gone through the tech2b program and benefited from the tailored support. The startups could not be more different - both in the development phase and in the business model. These success stories underline how tech2b supports startups at different stages of development - from the initial idea to scaling on the market.

Moldsonics - Smart sensors for the industry

Moldsonics is a spin-off of the JKU and produces intelligent ultrasonic sensor technology that makes industrial processes more efficient, sustainable and data-driven. With our technology, we enable contactless real-time monitoring, reduce waste, lower production costs and extend machine service life through condition monitoring.

Founded in 2021 by an interdisciplinary team of mechatronics and plastics engineers, we combine academic excellence with practical innovation. Our sensor technology is integrated directly into machines and thus scales automatically with their global use. We are working to make production processes in plastics and metal processing and recycling smarter - with solutions that create real added value.

Imagine you regularly throw up in pain. Imagine you have pain during
sexual intercourse. And then imagine being told that it will be difficult to have children. This is how women with endometriosis feel. At least one in ten women has endometriosis. However, the diagnosis currently takes up to 12 years. We say it has to get better! We are Diamens and diagnose endometriosis from menstrual blood.

How has tech2b supported you?
Our prototype is ready, we are just starting the next pilot study and we expect to launch it on the market in 2027. Fortunately, we are receiving a lot of support, including in the form of office space and valuable workshops from tech2b. We are currently in talks with a number of investors.

What message do you have for people interested in founding a company?
We were able to get in touch with some exciting people in the course of Diamens. This taught us one thing in particular that we would like to pass on to anyone interested in founding a company: Start-ups don't usually fail because of the product, but because of the team. The founding team is the core: you lose
and win as a team. What could be better than that?
